The Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility (AIReF) publishes the follow-up of the 2022 fourth quarter recommendations. In this period, AIReF made 11 recommendations aimed at strengthening the role of the General Budget in the design of economic policy, reinforcing budgetary stability and providing public accounts with a medium-term orientation.
These recommendations were included in the reports publishes in the fourth quarter of the year. Between October and December AIReF published the endorsement on the macroeconomic forecasts of the draft General Budget for 2023, followed by the report on the draft of the General Budget. It then issued the report on the drafts and fundamental lines of the budgets of the Public Administrations (AAPP) as a whole and at the territorial, autonomous and local level, which was subsequently completed with the issuance of the individual reports for the Autonomous Regions (CCAA). In addition, it reported the macroeconomic forecasts of the draft budgets for 2023 of twelve Autonomous Regions (Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, Castile and Leon, Canary Islands, Catalonia, Balearic Islands, Community of Madrid, Galicia, Region of Murcia, Valencia and the Basque Country).
