The Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility (AIReF) publishes the follow-up of the recommendations issued to the Public Administrations in the second quarter. In the second quarter of 2024, AIReF issued 4 recommendations, of which 2 were new and 2 of the were new and 2 were considered to be live recommendations. The new recommendations in the second quarter focused on reinforcing medium-term strengthening medium-term guidance and monitoring the expenditure rule.
AIReF issues recommendations in the reports it prepares throughout the year. These recommendations are governed by the comply-or-explain principle, the main tool with which AIReF the institution’s main tool for fulfilling its mandate. This principle establishes that the
administrations are obliged to follow AIReF’s recommendations, or explain the reasons for deviating from them.
