The Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility (AIReF) endorses the forecasts accompanying the draft 2025 budget of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands, which presents estimates of growth in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in volume and current terms, employment and the GDP deflator for the years 2024-2027, which differ from the latest estimates of the macroeconomic scenario of the Spanish Government for the country as a whole.
The Canary Islands estimates GDP growth in volume terms of 1.9% for 2025, which is lower than AIReF’s forecast of 2.2% and is below the range of other agencies’ forecasts for the region. However, it should be borne in mind that some of these forecasts do not fully take into account recent revisions to the Spanish National Accounts.
