Analyst
María´s work at AIReF focuses on detecting, analysing, and monitoring fiscal risks in the Spanish economy and analysing the Spanish labour market.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Oviedo. In 2003, she joined the State Service of Qualified Statisticians and since 2005 she has been a member of the High Service of Statisticians of the National Statistics Institute, participating in the design and implementation of the Housing Price Index (2005-2013). From 2013 to 2015, she worked as Head of Foreign Trade Statistics at the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness. From 2015 to 2023, she developed her role as Area Head at the Department of Methodology and Development of Statistical Production at the National Statistics Institute, specialising in methodologies and tools related to Time Series (Seasonal Adjustments, Time Disaggregation and Benchmarking, etc.) and Machine Learning. During these years, she has been a member of the Seasonal Adjustment Users Group (SAUG) and the Eurostat Time Series Analysis Centre of Excellence (TSACE).
