Budgetary Affairs of Autonomous Regions Analyst
Alfonso performs analyses of the Autonomous Regions, designs graphs included in reports and is responsible for the analysis of indebtedness and the development and updating of the Debt Monitor of the Autonomous Regions included on AIReF’s website.
Alfonso holds a bachelor’s degree in Economic and Business Science from the University of Alicante and a PhD in Social and Legal Science (specialised in Economics) from the King Juan Carlos University. He belongs to the High Service, Specialised in Economics, of the Regional Government of Castile-La Mancha, where he was the Head of the Economic Studies Service at the Directorate-General of Budgets from 2007 to 2016. He was responsible, inter alia, for drawing up the limit on non-financial spending and the multiyear budgetary frameworks and the regional budget information in relation to compliance with fiscal rules. Previously, he was the Head of the Economic Affairs Service at the Regional Department of the Environment and worked in the field of promoting business innovation.
