Deputy Director of the State and Social Security Department
Itziar is responsible for the monitoring and analysis of the Central Government and Social Security budgets.
Itziar holds a bachelor’s degree in Economic and Business Science from the Autonomous University of Madrid and in Law from the National University of Distance Education (UNED). She belongs to the High Service of State Statisticians. She has been Assistant Subdirector of the Directorate-General of Budgets at the Ministry of Finance and Civil Service and of the Directorate-General of Macroeconomic Analysis and International Economy at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation. From 2015 to 2019, she was the Spanish Representative on the Working Group on Ageing Populations of the European Union, which draws up long-term forecasts of spending on pensions, health and dependency, and the analysis of fiscal sustainability. Previously, she worked at the Sub-Directorate of National Accounts at the National Statistics Institute (INE), estimating quarterly GDP.
