Elena develops models destined to estimate forecasts for the Spanish economy and analyse the macroeconomic impact of economic policy measures.
Elena holds a bachelor’s degree in Economic Science and Law from the Carlos III University of Madrid and a master’s degree in Applied Statistics and Public Sector Statistics from the University of Alcalá de Henares. She joined the High Service of State Statisticians in 2007. From 2013 until she joined AIReF in 2018, she was an Advisory Member and Assistant Subdirector-General at the Directorate-General of Macroeconomic Analysis of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, performing the functions of the analysis and quantification of the macroeconomic impact of economic policy measures, developing econometric models to forecast the main macroeconomic variables and responsible for estimating the potential GDP. Between 2007 and 2013, she held different positions at the Sub-Directorate-General of National Accounts at the National Statistics Institute.
