The Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility (AIReF) endorses the macroeconomic forecasts of the Draft Budget Plan 2021, since it considers that the proposed scenario could materialize under certain assumptions.
This scenario estimates a contraction in GDP of 11.2% in 2020, as a result of the health crisis and the mobility restrictions necessary to mitigate it. In 2021, the Government’s scenario contemplates a notable recovery in economic activity, with an increase in GDP of 9.8%.
