The Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility (AIReF) publishes the Report on the Main Lines of the Public Administration Budgets 2024, in which it analyzes the 2024 Budget Plan sent to Brussels, which is configured as Spain’s main fiscal milestone for 2024 in the absence of General State Budgets.
AIReF lowers the 2024 growth to 1.7% and estimates that the deficit will be reduced to 3% of GDP if the measures against the energy and price crisis are withdrawn, and if the territorial administrations contain spending increases. It also forecasts that public debt will continue to fall in both years, but points out that Spain will continue to be one of the countries of the Economic and Monetary Union with the highest levels.
