The Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility (AIReF) has organised, for the second straight year, a workshop with the Public Administrations. The situation and perspectives of fiscal policy, the reform of the framework of European and national fiscal governance and the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (RTRP) were addressed at this second edition.
The President of AIReF, Cristina Herrero, inaugurated the workshop, designed as a meeting point between the different Public Administrations sub-sectors to exchange perspectives and debate and reflect in-depth on current affairs in the field of budgetary policy.
The session was organised in three round tables. The first, focused on the medium-term fiscal situation and outlook, included the participation of the Director of the Budget Analysis Division at AIReF, Ignacio Fernández-Huertas; the Director-General of Social Security, José Fernández Albertos; the Director of the Oversight and Spending Analysis Office of the Regional Government of the Balearic Islands, Pedro Nicolás Alomar Olson; and the General Comptroller of the City Council of Madrid, Beatriz M. Vigo.
The second round table, on the reform of the framework of European fiscal governance, included the participation of the Deputy Director of Public Debt at AIReF, Lucía Rodríguez Muñoz; the Deputy to the Director/Head of Unit of the European Commission, Gabriele Giudice; the Director-General of the Treasury, Budgets and Financial Policy of the Regional Government of Cantabria, Luis Fernando Olaiz; and the General Comptroller of the City Council of Valladolid, Rafael Salgado Gimeno.
The third round table discussed the challenge of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (RTRP) for all Public Administrations sub-sectors. This involved the participation of the analyst at the President’s Office of AIReF, Guillermo Rehberger; the Director/Head of Unit of the European Commission, Gabriele Giudice; the Head of the RTRP Monitoring Unit of the Economic Office of the President of the Government, Santiago Fernández; and the Director-General of Coordination and Head of the RTRP of the Regional Government of Valencia, Juan Ángel Poyatos.
Close to 150 participants attended the workshop between on-site and remote attendees from the Central Government, Autonomous Regions and Local Governments.
