The President of the Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility (AIReF), Cristina Herrero, has received an award from the Institute of Economic Studies (IEE) for her professional career in the field of economics, recognising her “long, ethical and successful career in her profession”.
This is the first edition of the awards whereby IEE seeks to recognise the work of outstanding professionals in the fields of economics and business, as well as their work and impact on their respective areas of activity.
The IEE has also awarded the prize for the best economic journalist to José María Triper and the prize for the best young economic journalist to Alejandra Olcese. For their part, the Honorary President of the IEE and Honorary Vice President of the CEOE, Arturo Gil, and the former Vice President of the CEOE, a member of the Management Board of the IEE and former President of UNESPA, Pilar González de Frutos, have been jointly recognised with the special IEE award for the outstanding person or institution in the field of economics.
The jury, under the Honorary Presidency of the President of the CEOE, Antonio Garamendi, and the Vice President of the CEOE, President of the IEE and of the Awards Jury, Íñigo Fernández de Mesa, deliberated on the 31 nominations submitted for the four categories that make up the awards.
The members of the jury for this first edition were the President of the CEOE, Antonio Garamendi (Honorary President of the Jury); the President of the IEE, Íñigo Fernández de Mesa (President of the Jury); the President of the CEOE Foundation, Fátima Báñez; the President of the Spanish Banking Association (AEB), Alejandra Kindelán; the President of UNESPA, Mirenchu del Valle; the Vice-President of Banco Santander, Juan Manuel Cendoya Méndez de Vigo; the General Secretary of the CEOE, José Alberto González-Ruiz; the President of AELEC, Marina Serrano; the CEO of BNP Paribas Personal Finance Spain, Franck Vignard; the CEO of Divina Seguros, Armando Miguel Nieto Ranero; the Director of Institutional Relations at Makro, Eduardo Pérez; the Director of Corporate Communication at Airbus Spain, Francisco Javier Salido Colodrón; the President of the Association of Economic Information Journalists (APIE), Jorge Zuloaga Montero; the President of the Federation of Associations of Journalists in Spain (FAPE), Miguel Ángel Noceda; the President of the General Council of Colleges of Administrative Managers, Fernando Jesús Santiago Ollero; the Dean of the College of Economists of Madrid, Amelia Pérez, and the President of the General Council of Economists, Valentín Pich. The secretaries of the Awards Jury were the General Director of the IEE, Gregorio Izquierdo, and the Director of Communication, Institutional Relations and Sustainability of the CEOE, Carmen Alsina.
